New minivan to transport people with a disability

This new minivan is our third vehicle to be equipped with a hydraulic lift system. Thanks to this clever system, each type of wheelchair can be loaded into the van while the passenger can stay in the wheelchair. There is enough headspace inside the van to allow the passenger to enjoy a comfortable ride.

This new vehicle is a ‘sprinter’ model. It is slightly bigger than our two other wheelchair-friendly vehicles. So not only is there extra storage space and extra comfort, the 8 seats also remain available during a wheelchair assignment.

Acquisition of taxi Luythaegen from Mortsel

As from July 15, 2010, all phone lines of taxi Luythaegen will be redirected to the central dispatching of DTM. Taxi Luythaegen was especially active in the areas Mortsel, Edegem, Kontich, Boechout and Hove. These areas are very close to the working area of DTM and therefore DTM will continue the Luythaegen service in that region. Loyal Luythaegen customers will still be able to call upon their familiar drivers because in general they will remain deployed in the same region.

COMBUS

As from August 2009 we are working with a new communication system. We have acquired new software for the dispatching and we installed new terminals in all the vehicles. This makes DTM the first company in Antwerp to comply with the new taxi legislation that enters into force on the first of July, 2010.

The most important novelties are :

- gps tracking (the dispatcher knows the exact location of each vehicle)

- integrated TomTom navigation

- more efficient communication between the dispatching and the vehicles
